Summary

The SAS/AAVSO-2020 “online Symposium” will bring you technical presentations, live Q&A, and interactive discussions with the presenters without the need to travel.

Description

The purpose of the SAS Symposium is to encourage research using small-telescope observations and amateur-professional collaborations in astronomy. Targets of interest at the Symposium include asteroids, solar system objects, exoplanets, variable stars, novae and supernovae, and related topics such as instrument design and characterization, and data analysis methods. Everyone with an interest in small-telescope research is welcome -- amateur astronomers, students, educators, and professional astronomers. If you want to see how small-telescope observations and measurements are contributing to astronomical science, learn more about photometry, astrometry, spectroscopy, CCD imaging, and the newest hardware and software techniques, this is the conference for you!

This year's online-only Symposium will be structured in 2.5-hour daily sessions, spread across five days:
May 30 (Saturday)
June 13 (Saturday)
June 14 (Sunday)
June 20 (Saturday)
June 21 (Sunday)
Each daily session runs from 1800 UT to 2030 UT (US time zones:  start time is 11 AM PDT = 2 PM EDT).
